Since the government of Uganda provided computers to secondary schools in the last ten years, there has been a tremendous increase in students offering Computer Studies and Sub ICT at O’ Level and A’ Level respectively. The Uganda Communications Commission has done a lot more by providing digital science academic content from Cyber Technology Solutions to reduce on poor performance in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

As schools started using these computers, there emerged the challenge of poor maintenance of computers and very high rate of breakdown. The solution to this, has been found in training ICT teachers and the leaders of computer clubs. This is a pilot project being implemented by UCC in partnership with 14 selected Universities and KAWA in twenty secondary schools selected all over the country.  For more details see the report below:

  1. Hello
I want to take this opportunity to thank the UCC for supporting schools with computer’s.
Am teacher of ICT at Kapchorwa Secondary School. Our school happens to be one of the beneficiaries of computers from UCC. And at the moment 6 computers are just working out of the 20 computers that were supplied to the school and our school happens to be having the largest number of students doing ICT in sebei region both at A-level and O-level. So how can we help help a school like kapchorwa Ss to get more computers.
